Hi! Welcome to The Spotted Leaf fam!! I'm Daisy, just a girl who loves plants, animals, her family and meeting new people!. Born and raised in Denver, CO now living in Aurora, CO with my partner and 4 children. I launched TSL in march of 2021. Pre-covid I worked in healthcare as an OR tech. Due to the pandemic and living which a chronic illness known as Ankylosing Spondylitis, I had to make some life adjustments. In 2020 I started homeschooling my children and focusing more on my passion and love of plants. Especially aroids such as Monstera, Philodendron, Hoya and Rhipsalis. I decided to take the plunge into plant related education and plant care by hosting classes, while opening up the entry room of our family home to a customized plant shopping experience. While I hold a retail license and buy some plants at wholesale cost, I have been working hard to grow many of my own. Ensuring that I am selling the best quality plants. I try to keep a wide selection in stock. Stuff that suits the beginner plant parent all the way to the seasoned collector.
I offer many services outside of running the shop. Classes that cover everything from basic plant care to soil science. Propagation 101 to how to propagate and grow some of the more challenging plants. I have goals to create an online platform to host these classes to those out of state/town in 2025
I also offer plant sitting. If you are headed out of town or travel often for work and need a reliable person to help make sure your collection is cared for, I'm your girl for the job! Feel free to contact me for rates as they vary based on the size of your collection and distance I will need to travel.
Need help repotting a plant? That's another service i provide. bring everything you would need or just bringthe plant. I have all the supplies needed to get the job done. I can even travel to you if it is a larger plant or one you are unsure of traveling with.
Wellness Checks! Have a sick plant, one that's just not growing or has an issue you are unable to trouble shoot? Let me help you. I can help over video chat, text or in-person. again if needed i can come to you. Please never bring in a plant with a pest issue- this can be done via video call or text without risking an outbreak in the shop. The shop plants and I thank you greatly for this!
In-home consultation: Hire me to come to your indoor jungle, take a look at your whole collection. Trouble shoot any issues and talk about ways you can create a more healthy environment for your plant babies. I can even help you came up with a game plan to handle any pest issue you may have acquired along the way. It's an unfortunate part of owning many plants but there are ways to lessen the chances of it happening.
